Manuscript critique and line edit: $50/hour

Rewrite: $64/hour

If a project is particularly lengthy and complex, such as a non-fiction work that requires both research and rewriting, I will negotiate a flat fee with the author, payable in installments.

I accept manuscripts via email attachment or hard copy through the mail. Hard copy is often easier to work with when I am critiquing the manuscript, since I can make comments directly on the page that are easily seen and understood. When either critiquing or line-editing on the computer, I use the "track changes" feature, which can be turned on or off, either to reveal or hide the commentary and editing. If the writer prefers I work with hard copy, postage is the writer's responsibility. If a writer emails his/her manuscript to me yet requests that I work on hard copy, I will charge a printing fee of $.05 per page.
